About Guardian Venue Management International (GVMI)
GVMI was established in 2004 by the companies’ director Michael Lakkis, after he recognized a weakness and inadequacies in the local security market in terms of professionalism, quality, and customer satisfaction. Starting off as a sole trader operation with only a handful of quality operatives, Michael continues to drive the company and it’s man power base to become the most sort after in the industry.
GVMI’s head office is located in the heart of Sydney’s South West, and is run by a team who are highly respected and sort after within the event and security industries. Combined, our expert management team boast over 50 years of security industry knowledge and event management experience. Our events and security teams are regularly found traveling around Australia to assist at major festivals such as Future Music Festival , Splendor in the Grass and Motor EX to name a few.
In Sydney, GVMI security guards are constantly being sourced for work at licensed venues, major sporting events, concerts and special events held at some of the world’s most recognized venues, such as Allphones Arena and ANZ Stadium located at Sydney Olympic Park, Pirtek Stadium (formerly Parramatta Stadium), Hordern Pavilion and Qantas Credit Union Arena.
The quality of GVMI operatives has also been recognized in recent times by larger organizations with the acquirement of St George and Sutherland Hospitals, as well as non-for profit organizations such as Mission Australia Housing. Our commitment to providing round the clock service is evident with a dedicated 24 hour health services hotline, which is constantly manned by our dedicated staff.
Our key area of expertise is in security risk management and we are focused on providing skilled, highly trained and experienced security professionals to all our clients. GVMI provide for Major events, Construction Sites, Corporate Offices and Retail. We offer and implement Loss Prevention solutions, Commercial Premise Protection, as well as CCTV and Alarm solutions. More recently we have added Commercial/Residential Cleaning and Traffic Control services to our portfolio.
GVMI continues to drive industry standards with the quality of its workforce and the delivery of helpful, site oriented security officers who see themselves as professionals in the security industry. Wherever possible, we ensure that our staff are of a demographic profile suited to the site at which they work, providing an acceptable public face to assist site staff and customers. We work closely with our clients in defining the parameters that develop operational, administrative and reporting systems, tailored to their requirements and set these as standards for which we measure of our performance.
We have identified competitors that are considered closely matched to our firm based on size and service line. However, none of them offer the extensive line of services that GVMI offers, nor are they client-centric in their market approach. We will continue to capitalize on the significant weaknesses of our direct competitors to establish our company as a market leader in the Security Services Industry.
To our advantage, most of our competitors are generalist in nature and do not focus on a niche market. Our competitors tend to focus on servicing a high volume of clients, they hire security guards and staff who have limited experience which only results in a high staff turnover. As a result, our competitors tend to take a “mass production” approach towards the industry and lack customer focus in their service delivery.
